Sarcophagus Sewing Box

From James II Galleries [run by a James Robinson relative from 1968-2005 on the 6th floor at 11 E. 57th St. They specialized in 19th century decorative arts and jewelry.]
A sarcophagus shaped sewing box with bun feet. A Vandyke pattern on the sides. Dividers removed by me. One foot replaced. I was visiting the store on February 14, 1985 and found this under a book. I snapped it up. I liked it enough that on my next trip to England I included Tunbridge Wells on my itinerary. And my second one was bought there.
