With a striking starburst design to the top which features specimen woods including green oak. The box is veneered in ash with floral mosaic bandings on the lid and all four sides. Original paper base and original blue silk lining. Working key. Original brass lock and hinges. The interior edges and base are veneered with ebony.
The star patterns and use of 'green oak' lead one to believe this was made by Thomas Barton.
